Chess Mates online chess classes for kids are ideal for children ages five and up.

Participating live on Zoom, your child will interact with other kids and have fun as they learn about different pieces and strategies, and solve chess puzzles together.

Lessons run for 40 minutes for kids under seven, and an hour for older kids.

How we teach

Our chess teachers are all passionate about sharing their love for chess. Using Chess Mates resources and tools, your teacher will tailor lessons to best suit your child and the other students in their class.

For younger kids, classes focus on helping them build a strong foundation in chess through storytelling with characters such as “King Sparky” and “Billy the Bishop”. Older kids will refine their strategy by revising games and working together to find checkmate or identify the best possible next move.

All class sizes are capped to offer your child the best possible learning experience.
